Kevin Henkes - What an Author!
We have been reading many of Kevin Henkes finest picture books in class. Now it is time for you to do some exploring on your own. First, click on the title "Kevin Henkes - What an Author" above. Second, when you are into the website, choose one of his books that you like and see how many words you can find that you know. Third, write them in your reading notebook and then finally you will write them in your post. Don't worry! We will work on this together if you need some help!

Let's Check Out A Mountain Community in Japan!
Now that we have been studyied some communities, let's check out a Mountain Community that is actually an island! Cool huh! What you need to do is click on the title to link to the website, and then check out the "cool" things you can learn about Japan.

The Polar/Tundra Region
Check out this really cool site for kids on the Island of Nunavik where Inuit life is the way of life! You will see how traditional Inuit customs meet modern Inuit practices. Work with the person next to you as you take notes. Once your notes are finished, come on back here and post a comment about one adaptation you identified from Polar Region.

Myths, Fables & Folktales from Around the World
Time for us to read some folktales from some of these different countries. Click on the link below to go to a site where you can choose two folktales to read. Once you have read the folktale you need to come back to the blog and post a comment.
